Meet Maren Altman, an astrologer and Bitcoin trader. The New Yorker has observed celestial objects’ motions since last summer to forecast Bitcoin price swings. And while many people might be ridiculous about her techniques, she has created 1 million-strong social media followers on TikTok.
The 22-year-old told her followers last week to see a price change on January 11.
Why does that happen? Saturn went to Mercury to cross.
Look at Bitcoin fell 21% that day, slapping the breaks at a meteor rally that saw it doubling from early December to a record $42,000 last week before restoring the bulk of its losses.
“I am never going to tell someone to buy this or that,” Altman said. “I can predict price trajectories but do not claim to be a financial adviser aware of someone’s specific circumstances, and therefore never give buy or sell advice.”
For those who are not initiated, Mercury is price data from Bitcoin and Saturn is an indication.
While many people may have as much reputation as any fortune story in Altman’s study, she is among a rising community of young TikTok influencers who started posting content on cryptocurrencies like price fluctuations in 2020.
They hop on the Bitcoin car that also disturbs many financial analysts, saying cryptocurrencies lack the key data points used to measure conventional assets, with their enigmatic movements.
Craig Erlam, a forex broker analyst OANDA said he was a little pessimistic about bitcoin predictions. He also thought that it was a selection of people who clutched straws and sought to explain any bullish purposes.
Since the beginning of 2020, Bitcoin has jumped over five times, leading investment banks to expect potential returns. Citigroup said bitcoin was able to hit $318,000 and JPMorgan Chase & Co has been tipping for $146,000.
So what about the stars for the favorite cryptocurrency in the world?
Altman, who has readings of Bitcoin’s astrology charts on the date of the block genes of the coin, said that at the end of that month, particularly February and early March, she had seen some favorable indicators. But she saw a major correction in mid-March. It was also less positive in the middle of April. May is bullish.
