Most recently, a study by Bloomberg said that the iPhone will be modified minorly on the iPhone 12 this year. In fact, the report details that engineers regard the following iPhone as a “S” version of the device within Apple.
Leaker Jon Prosser also said the iPhone will bet on the iPhone 12S instead of the iPhone 13 this year. That said, on the table for the iPhone 12S, there are still some potentially substantial changes. Several reports have shown that Apple tests in addition to its Face ID an in-screen fingerprint reader that could hit the iPhone this year.
The iPhone 12S also features a smaller notch in a recent supply chain survey. The TrueDepth camera system which is housed on the notch has officially been redesigned by Apple. Since the iPhone X, the size has been practically the same.
The supply chain reports also show that the 2021 iPhone range could include major changes in display technology such as ProMotion support and a possibility of an always-on display.
Another point to take into consideration is that the number 13 is relatively negative. The number 13 is synonymous with poor luck in many countries around the world. It is not clear if Apple will miss the branding of the iPhone 13 or not, but it’s an important point to remember.
What is your opinion? Is the iPhone 12S or the iPhone 13 this year? Or will Apple claim the number absolutely this year?
